Gottsunda kyrka is a modern parish church in the Gottsunda district of Uppsala. Designed by the architect Carl Nyrén, it stands as a tall pink-panelled timber building, blending the traditions of a Nordic wooden church, a hayloft and an ancient basilica.

The church was consecrated in 1980, part of a wave of parish building in Uppsala's expanding southern suburbs. Its striking form, a soaring timber structure with a stepped, tile-covered roof, sets it apart from the more traditional stone churches found elsewhere in the city and diocese.

Inside, the artist Sven Ljungberg was responsible for the church's decorative scheme, including a shimmering gold mosaic altarpiece said to be made up of around 600,000 individual pieces. The pulpit takes the form of an ambo, in keeping with the building's simple, modern character.

A freestanding bell tower stands to the north-east of the church, housing three bells cast in 1980 and reportedly named hope, faith and love. Above them hangs a carillon of 22 bells, said to play a hymn or song each day at noon, though visitors should not assume this is still the current practice.

The organ, built in 1980 by Nils Olof Hammarberg of Gothenburg, has a case designed by Nyrén himself and stands in the north-west corner of the church. It is a mechanical-action instrument typical of Swedish organ-building of the period.

Today the church is known locally for its multicultural community activities, including language cafés for new Swedish residents and lively work with children, alongside regular jazz services — reflecting Gottsunda's diverse and evolving parish life.
