Östra Vemmerlövs kyrka is a medieval church in Skåne dating from the 1100s, notable above all for its extensive 15th-century wall paintings. Set in the small village of Östra Vemmerlöv, it belongs to Gärsnäs parish within the Diocese of Lund and remains a striking example of Skåne's painted rural churches.

The church began as a small Romanesque building with a nave, narrower chancel and probably an apse. During the 15th century the nave was extended westward by an additional bay, cross vaults were installed, and the present stone tower was built. Porches were added in front of the original separate entrances for women and men. The chancel was later extended eastward, in 1787, replacing the old apse with a straight east end.

The church's most celebrated feature is its cycle of wall paintings, attributed to the so-called Fjälkinge workshop active in the mid-1400s, whose work also survives in nearby Fjälkinge, Gualöv and Kiaby churches. The paintings cover the vaults and walls with scenes including the Last Judgement, with Christ enthroned and flanked by the Virgin Mary and John the Baptist; the weighing of souls by the Archangel Michael, contested by small devils; and contrasting images of heaven and hell. Other scenes depict the coronation of the Virgin, four female saints, and the Nordic royal saints Knut, Erik and Olof alongside Saint Laurentius.

Among the more memorable individual images is a large depiction of Saint Christopher carrying the Christ child across a river, guided by a lamp-bearing figure traditionally read as a hermit, though the figure's dress has also been interpreted as female. Nearby, a scene shows Abraham prevented by an angel from sacrificing his son Isaac. The triumphal arch carries scenes of Adam and Eve and the Fall, along with two prophet figures.

The paintings were plastered over, probably in the 17th century, and rediscovered during a 1907 restoration led by cathedral architect Theodor Wåhlin, when they were photographed, conserved and in places reworked by the painter Nils Olsson. A further restoration in 1965–66 aimed to return the paintings closer to their original appearance.

Beneath the chancel floor lie two burial vaults, one containing members of the Knob-Urne family and another, built in 1787, holding coffins of the Schönström and von Schantz families; a 17th-century painting of musical angels survives in one vault, though it is no longer open to visitors. Other notable furnishings include a medieval font, a 1641 pew associated with the owners of nearby Gyllebo Castle, and a large wooden memorial to Gilius Ehrenberg, a 17th-century regional judge and the castle's first Swedish owner. The pulpit and altarpiece were carved in 1762 by the Skåne sculptor Johan Ullberg.
