The building was constructed as the Odéon cinema in 1925, in connection with the building of the Norrfors power station. In 1936 the building was inaugurated as the village's new prayer house. Since 1970 all Christian activity in the prayer house has been run by people from various denominations, such as the Church of Sweden, EFS, Evangelisk-Luthersk samling, the Pentecostal Church, the Swedish Mission Church and the Korskyrkan.
