Frösunda kyrka is a medieval parish church in Vallentuna, north-east of Stockholm, built of split granite in the 15th century on a site where an earlier, probably timber, church had already stood. Its interior preserves a striking group of medieval fittings.

A priest at Frösunda is recorded as early as 1291, and the earlier church was visited by Archbishop Olof in 1391. When the present stone church was built, part of the old stone sacristy was initially left standing against the new south wall before a new sacristy was added to the north and the old one demolished; the thinner old walling was then packed out with brick. A porch with sandstone corner quoins was added on the south side, and the gables are decorated with round blind niches in brick.

Inside, four brick vaults contemporary with the church cover the nave: three star vaults to the east and a four-part ribbed vault to the west, built directly into the church walls. The north wall had no windows until the 19th century, when two were opened, in 1810 and 1851; an earlier window in the east wall has since been bricked up.

Among the church's furnishings is a font of light brown sandstone from the later 12th century, thought to have been made in northern Uppland, fitted with a pewter dish engraved with a coat of arms, initials and the date 1649. The altar itself was rebuilt in 1952–53, but it carries a 15th-century altar cabinet, probably of North German origin, which was conserved in 1977. A brass chandelier of late medieval date hangs in the choir, and the wooden pulpit, carved in 1759 by Magnus Granlund in rococo style, was repainted in oak colour with gilding around 1900, when the tall door to its stair was removed.

Other notable items include a chasuble of pomegranate-patterned velvet, medieval in its fabric though the cross on the back was added later. The current organ, with 18 stops, was built in 1988 by A. Magnusson Orgelbyggeri, replacing an instrument bought in 1906; the organ case dates from 1824 and the west gallery from the 18th century.

Outside, a timber-clad bell tower painted with Falun red stands east of the church, first mentioned in 1631 and holding four bells. A runestone from the 11th century stands west of the porch entrance, and the churchyard is enclosed by a dry-stone wall that once carried a shingled, tarred wooden roof; lychgates, three of them by 1789, formerly pierced this wall. A mortuary chapel designed by Einar Lundberg was built at the north-west corner of the churchyard in 1950.
