Tångeråsa kyrka, in Örebro pastorate, is one of Sweden's few surviving medieval wooden churches, and among the oldest timber churches in the world. Tucked away in Tångeråsa parish in Lekeberg municipality, it offers visitors a rare glimpse of early medieval Swedish church building.

The church's oldest part is the chancel, built at the end of the 1290s, with the nave following in the 1340s. A stone sacristy was added in the mid-15th century, probably between 1455 and 1460, and the timber building was given tunnel-vaulted wooden ceilings throughout. The present porch dates from 1805, built at the same time as the church gained its current gallery. All the roofs are covered with wooden shingles, giving the exterior a distinctly archaic character.

A freestanding wooden bell tower was erected in 1659, with electric bell-ringing added in 1971. It houses one of Närke's largest medieval church bells, cast between about 1480 and 1495 and said to have been assigned to the church on the order of Bishop Kort Rogge. A smaller bell, cast in 1703 according to its inscription, replaced an earlier bell removed in 1531.

Inside, two medieval stained-glass fragments survive from the 14th century, alongside a late Baroque altarpiece of 1739. The pulpit, from 1641, carries images of the four evangelists, while the sandstone font is dated to the mid-13th century. A large triumphal crucifix from the early 15th century hangs in the chancel arch, and a smaller 14th-century processional crucifix is displayed on the north wall of the chancel.

The church organ is notable for surviving in something close to its original condition. Built in 1805 by the Stockholm instrument and clockmaker Pehr Strand, it is reckoned the second oldest organ in the Diocese of Strängnäs and was last restored in 1982.
