Fjällbacka kyrka stands high above the village of Fjällbacka on Sweden's west coast, a striking neo-Gothic landmark visible for miles around. Built in the late nineteenth century, it remains the parish church of Fjällbacka to this day.

The church was the first to stand on this site, completed in 1892 in the neo-Gothic style. The parish had originally hoped to build in timber, but since the surrounding area was poor in forest, a wooden church would have offered little saving over one built in stone.

The builders turned instead to red Bohus granite, quarried locally, giving the church its distinctive rough-hewn reddish walls. The design, by architect Adrian C. Peterson, comprises a nave with a narrower chancel to the east and a tower to the west; sources differ slightly on the chancel's shape, describing it as either five-sided or three-sided. The sacristy sits behind a screen wall in the eastern part of the chancel, while the porch occupies the ground floor of the tower. The church was restored in 1928.

The churchyard lies to the north-east, just below the hill on which the church stands. It was inaugurated in 1907 and later extended in 1970.

Inside, visitors can see a three-sided altarpiece centred on a crucifix, and a pulpit divided into panels bearing symbolic figures. A font altar was added in 1978. The organ, with sixteen stops across one manual and pedal, retains much of its pipework from the original 1892 instrument, though it was restored in 2002.

Outside the entrance stands a modern addition: since 2009, the sculpture Pålarne, a collaborative work by sculptor Pål Svensson and watercolour painter Arne Isacsson, combines Bohus granite in varied hues with glass-laminated watercolour monotypes.
