Billdals kyrka, in the Askim district of Gothenburg, was completed in 1992. Its tall falu-red tower rises beside Billdalsviken like a sea mark. Architect Magnus Wångblad, of Arkitekttriangeln in Trollhättan, designed both interior and exterior, drawing on the National Romantic timber buildings along the old Säröbanan railway line.

The building has an L-shaped plan, with the church hall rising at the angle of the two wings. Its walls are clad in slam-painted falu-red timber panelling, and the tower doubles as the roof of the church hall, dominating the space both inside and out. The wide nave, with pews set at an angle rather than in straight rows, was designed to allow the congregation to face both the altar and one another. The church seats around 150 people.

Among the furnishings is a woven cross in the chancel, known as "Triumfen", by textile artist Inga-Karin Jonsson, who was also asked to create a lighter woven backdrop for the new building. The altar crucifix, carved in wood, is the work of artist Eva Spångberg. Two doors are said to carry painted scenes of Billdal by Helmut Weber.

The mechanical organ was built in 1994 by Hammarbergs Orgelbyggeri AB of Gothenburg, replacing an earlier instrument; it has seventeen stops across two manuals and pedal. According to church sources, two stops were funded by a small churches foundation and a decorative cymbelstern was a gift from the church's choirs.

Before the present building, the congregation worshipped in a "wandering church" (vandringskyrka) — a prefabricated timber church relocated from Hjällbo, where it had been replaced by a new building — joined to a former grocery shop on Letsegårdsvägen and inaugurated in the 1970s. Accounts differ slightly on the exact date, but the final service there took place in May 1992, after which the congregation is said to have walked together to the newly built church, consecrated by Bishop Lars Eckerdal.
