Stenums kyrka is a 19th-century parish church near Skara, built in a neoclassical style with touches of Gothic Revival. It retains an altarpiece and door from its medieval predecessor, along with a font dating back to the 1100s.

The present church was built in 1867 to designs by Ludvig Hawerman, replacing an earlier Romanesque church with an apse that stood on the site. Stone from the demolished building was reused in the new structure, while its timber was burned. The church was consecrated in November 1867 by Bishop Johan Albert Butsch, and its interior was decorated in the fashion of the period with stencilled painting.

The building has been altered more than once. A 1925 renovation, overseen by Axel Forssén, introduced a new floor, marbled colour schemes, reshaped pews with side aisles, and a new altarpiece painted by Gerda Höglund in 1928. A further renovation in 1952, led by Adolf Niklasson, brought further changes to the pews, a new altarpiece, and the reinstatement of a large nineteenth-century cross above the chancel screen; a porch was also added outside and the old chimney removed as electricity was installed. Exterior repairs, including rendering and roofing work, followed in the 1990s.

Despite these changes, several older furnishings survive from the church's construction in 1867, including the altar rail, altar, chancel screen, hymn number boards and pulpit. The plain, bowl-shaped font is of a Romanesque type and considerably older than the building itself, believed to date from the twelfth century.

Two undated bells hang in the church, both thought to be medieval. The larger bell has a thirteenth-century campana-style shape decorated with small incised crosses and, on one side, an image of a barbed arrow drawn on a bow. The smaller bell is short and broad, and is judged to be late medieval or possibly later still.

The west gallery organ has a façade built in 1880 by Salomon Molander & Co of Gothenburg, though the mechanism was substantially rebuilt in 1935 by Nordfors & Co, retaining many of the original Molander components. A separate, smaller organ was installed near the chancel in 1989.
