The church has a simple rectangular nave built from timber, with a sacristy attached to the north side. A narrower chancel was added to the east end in the 1970s, designed by architect Bengt Lidström, while the porch at the west end gained a tower in 1936. The exterior walls are clad in white-painted panelling, originally painted red, beneath a shingled saddle roof. Interestingly, the same architectural plans were reused two years later to build Åskilje kyrka nearby.
The surrounding churchyard was consecrated in 1930 and later extended in the 1980s with additional burial plots.
Inside, the altarpiece was painted by Gerda Höglund; an earlier altarpiece by Albert Grubbström has since been moved to Akkans kapell. The font was made by a local stone firm in Storuman, with a matching font bowl crafted by a goldsmith in Vilhelmina to a design by Victor Svedberg, who served as curate in Umnäs in the late 1940s.
The church's history includes more than one organ. An early instrument built in 1901 was later moved here from Risbäcks kyrka before eventually being placed in storage elsewhere in the parish. The organ currently in the church was relocated from Storuman's parish hall and is a mechanical instrument built by the Grönlunds organ workshop.
