The church was built in 1970 to designs by the architect Lars Ridderstedt and was consecrated in April of that year. Its construction reflects a traditional regional technique, with a log-built (liggtimmer) structure beneath a sheet-metal-clad gabled roof.
A separate bell tower stands to the east of the church, finished with the dark red timber panelling (faluröd) characteristic of Dalarna's vernacular buildings, offering a visual link to older wooden churches and farm structures in the surrounding countryside despite the building's relatively recent date.
Near the church is an ash grave plot (askgravplats), a modern form of burial area providing a communal space for interment of ashes.
The church organ dates from the same year as the building, 1970, and was constructed by Robert Gustavsson Orgelbyggeri AB of Härnösand — a modestly scaled instrument in keeping with the church's unpretentious character.
