Eks kyrka is a parish church in the southern part of Mariestad Municipality, Västra Götaland, now part of Ullervad parish in the Diocese of Skara. Its present appearance dates largely from the late eighteenth century, though its origins are medieval.

The original stone church here was built in the Middle Ages, and a drawing made in the 1670s by the antiquarian Johan Peringskiöld, for his survey of Swedish monuments, recorded its earlier form: a simple hall church with a timbered porch on the south wall and a timbered sacristy to the east. By the time that drawing was made, the building already had a long history behind it.

Between 1794 and 1798 the church was substantially rebuilt in the Gustavian style, to designs attributed to the architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz. This work added the tower, a new sacristy and the present chancel, and probably also enlarged the original nave. The result is the rectangular nave with a three-sided chancel, slimmer west tower and north sacristy seen today, roofed with single-curved clay tiles and a tower capped in sheet metal.

Among the church's furnishings is a font dating from the thirteenth century, one of the oldest surviving objects in the building. More striking is a wooden Madonna figure carved in oak in the fifteenth century, thought by some scholars to be of German origin. Standing 62 centimetres tall, the sculpture has suffered considerable damage over the centuries: both forearms are missing, much of the figure of the Christ child has broken away, and all original paintwork has been lost.

The altarpiece now in place was painted by Lennart Wilkmar in 1955, while the pulpit is thought to date from the nineteenth century. A crucifix from the eighteenth century is kept in the sacristy.

The organ was built in 1891 by Johannes Magnusson of Gothenburg, later enlarged in 1937 and renovated in the 1950s; the pipes visible in its façade are original to the instrument.
