Norra Björke kyrka stands at the foot of Hunneberg beside road 44 in Trollhättan municipality, close to where the notable Vittene gold hoard was discovered in 1995. This small church, part of Åsaka-Björke parish in the Diocese of Skara, has medieval origins and a distinctive later remodelling.

The church's earliest fabric dates from the medieval period, with sources differing slightly on the century of origin, but general agreement that the building was substantially altered over time. In 1754 the nave was widened and a new chancel added, with larger windows let into the walls. A further remodelling in 1903 gave the church its unusual appearance today, described as a form of neo-Baroque: a sacristy with an onion dome, a west portal and a ridge turret were added, along with decorative painting to the boarded ceiling in matching style.

A freestanding wooden bell tower stood here in the 17th century but was demolished in 1817. In its place, a gateway with an arched opening was built into the churchyard wall the following year, later topped by a timber bell turret; this arrangement is considered unusual and three bells now hang there.

The font is thought to be a medieval import, possibly from Norway, and is among the oldest items in the church. The pulpit is a Renaissance-period work. The altarpiece painting was made in 1772 by the Gothenburg master Thure Gerhard Nubbe and installed a few years later, while the surrounding altar structure, in Rococo style, is attributed to the sculptor Lars Ryberg, with a matching altar rail added during the 1903 works. A further painting on the south wall of the nave dates from 1941, the work of Olle Hjortsberg.

Eleven paintings on the gallery front, depicting human virtues, are attributed to Nils Åvall of Alingsås and dated to 1792, though one source describes them more generally as figure paintings without individual attribution.

The organ has ten stops across two manuals, built by the Liared organ workshop; sources differ on whether this dates from 1965 or 1967. Its facade may incorporate elements from an earlier 1885 organ. According to one account the pipe organ is technically playable but rarely used, a digital instrument serving in its place instead.
