The church was built during the Vasa era, when Djurhamn was an important naval base. It was consecrated in 1683. The church has a carved altarpiece from the 17th century, a fine collection of oil paintings, and two old votive ships.
Djurröds kyrka is a small parish church in the village of Djurröd, in Skåne, south of Kristianstad. Its oldest parts date back many centuries, and the building preserves medieval wall paintings, a crypt and several older fittings of interest to visitors.
Djursdala kyrka stands high above Lake Juttern, around ten kilometres north of Vimmerby in Småland. The parish once bore the name Juttersdala, echoing the lake below, and this timber church remains a striking feature of the wooded landscape.
The Djursholm Chapel Foundation owns the church, which was inaugurated in 1902. Designed by Fredrik Lilljekvist. A church worth seeing, with an altarpiece from the late medieval period.
