Kila kyrka is a medieval parish church in Kila, part of Kumla, Tärna och Kila församling in the Diocese of Västerås, standing a few miles south-west of Sala in Västmanland. Its long, plain exterior conceals a building with roots stretching back to the fourteenth century.

The original stone church was built sometime in the 1300s, possibly replacing an earlier timber building. It measured around 20 metres in length and was covered by a wooden barrel vault. Later in the fifteenth century the interior was reworked with two star-shaped vaults, which required new supporting pillars and led to the windows being repositioned. The walls and vaults were decorated with figurative paintings during this period, some of which survive.

The church took its present, much longer form through two significant extensions. In 1780 the tower was added at the western end, replacing a separate medieval bell tower whose timber was reused for flooring and bell fittings; the steep medieval roof was also replaced with a broken (mansard-type) roof. In 1798 the building was lengthened eastward with a new chancel and sacristy. The church now measures some 43.5 metres long and 8.8 metres wide. Twenty-one medieval roof trusses dating to the 1300s survive in the nave, though no medieval timber has been found in the tower itself.

Among the furnishings is a triumphal crucifix dated to the 1300s and other wooden sculptures from the medieval period. An altar cabinet from around 1500 is thought to be either Swedish or north German work. The pulpit, made in 1651 by Peder Arvidsson of Sala, was reportedly bought for 210 daler; an earlier altar-pulpit used between 1828 and 1936, made by court sculptor Axel Magnus Fahlcrantz, is preserved in a small museum in the tower chamber. A font fragment dated to the 1100s is considered to be of the so-called Mälardalen type, and there is a bronze baptismal kettle from 1540 bearing a Latin inscription, along with an altarpiece from 1450.

The church has had several organs. An instrument acquired around 1650 stood in the choir before being replaced in 1772 by a new organ built by Niclas Söderström and Mattias Swahlberg the younger, funded by the Sala Bergslag mining community. This in turn was succeeded in 1893 by an organ built by E. A. Setterquist & Son of Örebro, which was formally inspected that August by organists from Sala and Heby.

The exterior was last known to have been refurbished in 2011, when the façades were replastered and painted pink with a red-brown plinth, and the woodwork and ironwork repainted.
