Husby kyrka is a parish church in the village of Husby (Smedby), in Hedemora, Husby och Garpenbergs församling in the Diocese of Västerås, Dalarna. Its medieval origins, later remodelling and unusually well-preserved eighteenth-century organ make it a rewarding stop for visitors interested in church history.

The church dates from the first half of the 13th century, though its present appearance owes much to an extensive rebuilding of 1779–1782, when the tower was added. Because the church stands close to the Dalälven river, the ground beneath it is unstable, and subsidence is said to still affect the chancel. A 1935 renovation uncovered sixteenth-century wall paintings, including a depiction of the Holy Brother Staffan, abbot of Gudsberg monastery.

The 38-metre tower carries a globe and cross at its summit; unusually, the cross is oriented so that its arms are visible from the side of the church rather than the end, reflecting the layout of the village, which lies mainly to the east along the river. The tower clock was made in Stjärnsund, and its three bells were cast at different times, the oldest surviving bell dating from 1606 (recast in 1656).

The upper gallery holds one of Sweden's largest surviving late eighteenth-century organs, built in 1783 by the local organist Niclas Söderström, reportedly his first such commission, which led him into a career as an organ builder. Built in the tradition associated with Johan Niclas Cahman, it escaped the radical rebuilding that affected many contemporary Stockholm organs and is regarded as one of Sweden's best-preserved organs of its period; it was reinaugurated after restoration in 2011. A separate organ, built in 1935 by Åkerman & Lund, stands on the lower gallery.

Among the church's furnishings are a medieval font carved from brown sandstone, a medieval altar cabinet depicting the Virgin and Child on the south wall, and a triumphal crucifix from the 15th century near the north exit. An older pulpit of 1620 was replaced by the current one in 1790; a wooden sculpture of Moses with the Ten Commandments, from the 17th century, also survives. The neoclassical altar arrangement was designed by Ludvig Hawerman in 1860, with an altarpiece of the Resurrection painted by A.G. Hertzberg in 1862.

Where the sacristy once stood, a smaller chapel known as Husby lillkyrka has been created, used for services, weddings, baptisms and funerals for smaller gatherings. It retains traces of the pre-Reformation Catholic church, including an incense vessel, a Madonna figure and wall paintings dating from the 14th century — older than those in the main church — along with a crucifix from the same period.
