Gustavsfors kapell stands on the eastern shore of Lake Lelången in Bengtsfors. Built as a free-church meeting house in 1891, it passed through several congregations before Torrskogs församling acquired it and had it consecrated in 1957 by Bishop Gert Borgenstierna.

The chapel began life in 1891, raised by a local group called Kyrkans vänner, linked to the Evangeliska fosterlandsstiftelsen revival movement. A missionary congregation also met there for a few years before building its own separate mission house nearby. Between 1930 and 1941 the building was let to the Bethania congregation, and it was only in the 1940s that the Church of Sweden began holding its own services in Gustavsfors, eventually buying the chapel outright in the mid-1950s.

The building's varied ownership reflects the shifting religious life of this small ironworking community, as well as the geography of Torrskogs parish itself. Lake Lelången, which once linked the settlements around it, gradually came to be felt as a divide between the parish's western and eastern halves, making a place of worship on the eastern shore useful for local worshippers.

Architecturally the chapel is unassuming: a long, narrow, north-south oriented building typical of nineteenth-century free-church halls, with a smaller angled extension added in 2000 to the northeast providing a cloakroom and toilet. A separate timber bell tower and a small storage building with an outdoor privy stand alongside. The main worship space occupies the southern part of the building, with a raised chancel to the north.

Inside, the furnishings are plain. The altar is a simple, loose, white-glazed wooden table dating from the 2000 renovation. Above it hangs the chapel's most distinctive object: an altarpiece titled Vision i smedjan (Vision in the Forge), created in 1978 by the artist Olga Aue-Birkfeldt using metal together with a range of stone and mineral materials. Its imagery recalls the ironworks and forge that once gave Gustavsfors its economic importance.
