Set on a small hill just behind Trollenäs Castle in Skåne, Näs kyrka is a modest medieval church closely tied to its grand castle setting. Its main draw is a set of striking late-medieval ceiling paintings that reward a quiet look inside.

Näs kyrka has ancient origins, with sources indicating the church was consecrated in the 1100s. Over the centuries it was altered, extended and partly demolished. A northern extension was added around 1600 to provide more seating, and in 1860, when a new parish church was built nearby, the older church tower from 1641 was pulled down, though the church building itself was retained and given stepped gables.

The most memorable feature for visitors is the vaulted ceiling, painted in the 1400s in several layers directly onto the Gothic vault arches, which were themselves built beneath an older timber roof. The best-preserved paintings are found in the chancel arch and apse, showing decorative foliage patterns, inscriptions and figurative scenes. Despite various restorations over time, only fragments of these images and ornaments now survive.

A restoration in 1925–1926 reshaped the northern extension into a burial chapel, adding another layer to the building's long architectural history.

Among the church's furnishings is a font dating from the 1100s, though it is not thought to be the church's original font; its accompanying font dish is decorated with images of the Virgin Mary and the Angel Gabriel. The altarpiece was made in 1771 by an unknown craftsman, replacing a later one from 1817. The church has no permanent organ.
