Brevens kyrka is a small ironworks church at Brevens bruk, around 20 kilometres from Odensbacken in Örebro county. Built between 1840 and 1842 in Empire style, it was paid for by the ironworks owner of the time and consecrated in September 1842.

The church was funded by Johan August Anckarsvärd, then owner of the Breven ironworks, and completed in the early 1840s. It is built on a north–south axis, unusually with the entrance to the north and the altar to the south. The plan consists of a rectangular nave with a semicircular apse and a slightly recessed tower at the northern end, flanked by small rooms including a sacristy.

Both outside and inside, the building is considered well preserved and is regarded as an attractive small-scale example of neoclassicism. The rendered walls are painted ochre-yellow, with white corners, pilasters and mouldings, and the tower has a flat roof enclosed by an iron railing. Two bells hang in the tower, cast by the Bredman foundry in Stockholm; the larger bears an inscription recording that it was presented to the church in 1873 during the tenure of the Gripenstedt family, who then held the Bysta estate.

Inside, the church retains much of its original character. Unusually, the pulpit is placed above the altar rather than against a side wall, a reformed arrangement uncommon in Lutheran churches but found in Sweden in the late eighteenth century. Above the pulpit hangs a painting of the Virgin and Child flanked by two cherubs, while the altar itself holds a depiction of the crowned-with-thorns Christ and a silver crucifix on a stand. The sacristy, originally located behind the pulpit, was moved to a space beneath the gallery during restoration work in 1978.

The present organ was built in 1952 by Åkerman & Lund of Knivsta, incorporating the case of an earlier instrument that had been moved here in 1852 from Högsjö chapel in Västra Vingåker, originally built in 1830.

A local tradition associated with the church is that the Breven brass band plays from the flat roof of the tower each Ascension Day morning, before a service is held inside — though it is not certain whether this custom continues today.
