In 1876 the village of Köttsjön was granted its own burial ground, which was consecrated the following year. In connection with this, the village was also given the use of one of the old church's bells, which was then mounted on the adjoining school building.
When a new school was built in 1919, the schoolroom was arranged so that it became a combined schoolroom and church room. In 1940 a bell tower was built, where the bell was mounted.
Since the school closed, the building has continued to be used as a church room and is now called Köttsjöns kapell, owned by Ragunda parish.
