Bäckkapellet (the Brook Chapel) was built in 1933. It is situated next to Sösjöbäcken, by Bräcke cemetery, opposite Bräcke church. In the early 2000s it was discovered that the building had been affected by dry rot (hussvamp), and it was therefore closed to prevent the fungus from spreading to other buildings. Following decontamination and internal and external renovation, the chapel was brought back into use in 2007. Today it is used mainly for smaller weddings, baptisms and funerals, as well as for services and devotions. The altar in the chapel is designed so that all Christian symbols can be removed. The chapel is the venue provided for civil (non-religious) funerals.
