Onslunda kyrka stands at the centre of the village of Onslunda in Skåne, within the Brösarp-Tranås parish of the Diocese of Lund. Surrounded by mature trees and a large churchyard, its whitewashed tower and red-tiled roof give the building a commanding presence over the surrounding settlement.

The present church replaced an earlier medieval building that had fallen into serious disrepair. When Bishop Wilhelm Faxe inspected the old church in 1838, he described it as small, dark and damp, with a weak, leaning tower, an uneven and sunken floor, and pews and flooring so decayed that repair was judged not worthwhile. Following a parish meeting in the summer of 1844, it was decided to fund a new church on the same site.

The new building was designed by the architects Hof and Pettersson and completed in 1862, built of grey stone in a style influenced by Romanesque architecture. It has a relatively narrow stepped-gable tower set against a spacious nave, with a semicircular apse and sacristy at the opposite end. The nave roof is tiled, while the tower and sacristy are covered with red-painted sheet metal. Although built in the nineteenth century, the church was deliberately given the external appearance of an early medieval Romanesque building.

Several fittings were carried over from the old church, most notably a striking triumphal crucifix dating from the 1200s, along with the pulpit and altarpiece. In the early twentieth century, much of the fixed interior—including the altar wall, organ, organ gallery and pews—was replaced with new work designed by Theodor Wåhlin, cathedral architect in Lund. The cement floor tiles in the central aisle, known as the Victoria tiles, were laid in 1915.

The stone font from the old church was initially replaced by a simple wooden font with a fitted basin; the stone font seen in the church today was donated by the Onslunda needlework guild in 1955. A further renovation in 1977, overseen by architect Torsten Leon Nilsson, uncovered decorative painting on the triumphal arch and in the apse that had been painted over in the 1930s, and the altar wall, altar rail and pulpit were given new colour schemes.

The church's organ, built in 1912 by E A Setterquist & Son of Örebro, is a pneumatic instrument. A mortuary chapel was built in the village in 1933, probably to designs by the county architect Nils A Blanck, and was extended in the mid-1970s with staff facilities and public toilets.
