Grums kyrka, in Värmland, was gutted by fire in 1927 and rebuilt to reopen in 1930. Despite that disaster, it still holds fittings whose origins stretch back to the twelfth century, making it a church of considerably older character than its rebuilt walls might suggest.

The exact age of the earliest church on this site is unknown, though research suggests one may have stood here as far back as the late 1100s, and a church at Grums is definitely recorded from the 1300s. Little of that early building survives: the large chancel is thought to date from the 1600s, possibly incorporating parts of a medieval structure, while the nave was rebuilt in 1714 and the tower added in 1739. The tower's spire was replaced by a lantern in the early 1800s, itself later renewed, giving the exterior a distinctive silhouette before the 1927 fire.

On 18 December 1927 the church was gutted by flames, leaving only the outer walls standing, though some fittings were rescued. It was rebuilt on the same walls and reconsecrated in 1930, broadly restoring its earlier appearance. Today the church is a rectangular nave with a three-sided chancel to the east, a sacristy to the northeast, and a tower to the west, covered by a hipped roof and a wooden barrel vault inside.

Among the surviving older treasures is a font whose stone foot dates from the late 1100s and whose soapstone bowl is attributed to the mid-1200s, remarkable survivals from the building's earliest history. The altarpiece and pulpit, both probably the work of master Nils Falk, date from the early 1700s and remain among the most striking features of the interior.

A gilded wooden baptismal angel, attributed to the sculptor Isac Schullström, is another notable fitting, along with fresco paintings by the artist Simon Sörman found in the sacristy and near the font. The church organ was destroyed in the 1927 fire; its replacement, built in 1930, was later renovated, and a smaller chamber organ was added in the 1990s.
