Möljeryds kyrka, near Lake Åsjön in Ronneby parish, began life in 1894 as a combined village school and church, designed by the architect N O Berlin. The timber building later became a dedicated church, and it remains a modest but characterful place of worship in Blekinge.

The building's earliest years were unusual: it served as a two-room schoolhouse during the week, with a sliding partition wall opened up for services, a small movable altar with a crucifix set out, and the teacher's lectern doing duty as a pulpit. This dual role ended when a new village school opened in Möljeryd in 1925, after which the building was remodelled into a proper church to designs by Carl Modigh, with the work completed in 1928. The exterior was simplified at this time, losing its gable crosses and roof spire in favour of a plainer traditional roofline; for a period in the mid-20th century the church wore a rendered facade, later restored to its timber panelling.

The altarpiece, painted in 1928 by the Blekinge artist Gunnar Torhamn, depicts the Ascension of Christ. Torhamn returned to the church in 1956 to extend the composition directly onto the wall, adding a red drapery crowned by the Lamb of God that now frames the painting. A wooden crucifix, bought in Oberammergau in 1928, is also among the church's furnishings.

The font was a gift from the parish's Christian youth circle at Christmas 1944, made in Lund to designs by the vicar of the time. The brass chandeliers date from 1928 and were made by Karlskrona lampfabrik, which also supplied some candle sconces and holders; together with the organ, communion vessels and bell, these are among the few items bought in by Ronneby parish itself.

A freestanding bell tower stands apart from the church, said to have been built as a smaller copy of the tower at Brukskapellet in Kallinge. It was completed in 1912 and its bell, cast in Stockholm, was first rung that Christmas Eve; the bell carries an inscription reflecting on rest and the Sabbath. The tower's red-painted timber panelling contrasts with the church's white-painted exterior.

The organ, built in 1956 by Mårtenssons orgelfabrik in Lund, is a small mechanical instrument of ten stops, a fairly typical fitting for a rural Swedish church of its size.
