Skultuna kyrka, in Norrbo parish near Västerås, is a medieval church remodelled in the eighteenth century. Its close ties to the nearby Skultuna brassworks are reflected throughout the interior, giving this modest country church a distinctive character among Swedish parish churches.

The church was built around 1300, replacing an earlier, probably wooden, church on or near the site; a well-preserved font of around 1200 suggests worship here long predates the current building. Medieval brick vaults were added in the fifteenth century, though these later proved unstable and were removed in the 1670s, replaced by the timber barrel vault still seen today.

The most significant transformation came in 1770–72, when the nave was extended westward and the tower built, likely to designs associated with the architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz. Soon after, the local ironmaster Carl Jakob Adlerwald added an eastern chancel as a burial chapel for his family, which became the site of the altar. Further changes followed in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, including a substantial 1904 remodelling in a neo-Baroque style and a 1951 restoration that deliberately sought to recreate the church's eighteenth-century appearance, removing later decorative painting and restoring earlier window proportions.

Because of the church's proximity to the Skultuna brassworks, many of its fittings are made of brass rather than more usual materials, a distinctive local feature. These include a seven-branched candlestick given by a clergyman in 1692 and a brass crucifix group presented in 1673. The christening bowl in use today, donated the same year by Isaac Cronström, an owner of the brassworks, is made of beaten brass and has a lid with a figure of John the Baptist, its foot a twentieth-century addition by sculptor Pierre Forssell.

Among the older furnishings are two medieval angel figures that once topped candle-holders, one of which could be made to ring a small bell by pulling a cord, as part of the mass; one angel is heavily restored and now has a modern copy on the opposite side of the aisle, while the other, more fragmentary, survives near the sacristy door. The pulpit, built in 1773 in a swirling Rococo style and unusually well preserved, together with gilded altar ornaments, both reportedly originate from Västerås Cathedral. Two bells hang in the tower, recast in the nineteenth century, each bearing an inscription reflecting on mortality and salvation.

The hymn writer Julia Nyberg, known for the song 'Vårvindar friska', is said to be buried beneath the altar in the chancel.
