Hubbo kyrka, built in the mid-14th century in the Västerås countryside, is a well-preserved medieval church renowned for its carved wooden sculptures and unusually complete exterior, which has changed little since it was raised.

The church is a single-nave building in the Gothic style, its thick rendered rubble walls rising to gables of exposed brick decorated with elaborate blind arcading. Diagonal buttresses line the outer walls, and a porch was added to the south side in the 15th century, around the same time that star vaults in brick replaced the original wooden ceiling.

A sandstone font from the 1200s, along with an unusual medieval wooden font cover, suggests an earlier church stood on the same site before the present building was constructed in stone. Also from this early period is a pine sculpture of Saint Olaf, said to have been carved in Trondheim, shown standing over a troll whose head has since been lost.

Behind the altar stands a striking group of eight oak statuettes, thought to come from a Rhineland workshop and dated to the 14th century, which once formed part of an altar cabinet now otherwise lost. At its centre is an unusual coronation scene showing Christ crowning his mother, and beside it what is described as Sweden's oldest surviving depiction of Saint Anne, Mary's mother. A separate carved image of the crowned Virgin and Child dates from the later 15th century.//The 17th-century bell tower in the churchyard houses two bells: the larger, cast in 1491, carries a Latin inscription, while the smaller was cast by Johan Meyer in 1665 and bears a relief of the Archangel Michael.

The church interior has been altered considerably more than the exterior over the centuries. A major renovation in the 1890s introduced new pews, a pulpit, and a gallery, blocked the doorway between porch and nave, and turned the porch into a mortuary chapel; further changes in the early 1950s reshaped much of today's interior, restoring the porch entrance and removing later wall paintings. An organ built in 1889 was rebuilt in 1960, though its original façade survives.
