Kungs-Husby kyrka stands around twenty kilometres south-east of Enköping, in Uppsala län. Built from grey stone in the fourteenth century, it is one of the older parish churches in the region, notable for its medieval sculptures and painted vaults.

The church occupies the site of an earlier medieval building in Husby, once a royal estate and administrative centre. Fragments of a twelfth-century font hint at this earlier structure, though the three eastern bays of the present nave and its sacristy were raised in the first half of the fourteenth century. A porch was added in the later fifteenth century, when brick vaults replaced an earlier timber roof structure; traces of the older wooden vaulting can still be seen in the loft space above.

Around 1500 an unknown artist decorated the new brick vaults with limewash paintings, largely drawing on the Biblia pauperum tradition of picture-Bible imagery. The church was damaged by a lightning strike in 1676, though repairs were not carried out until 1770, at which point the paintings were whitewashed over. They were rediscovered in 1859 and restored the following year by Johan Zacharias Blackstadius, who is said to have kept fairly close to the originals except where the lightning damage required new work. The building reached its present size between 1755 and 1757, when a western bay was added with its own brick vault.

Among the furnishings is a painted stone Madonna, a German work usually dated to the mid-fourteenth century and thought to originate from the Rhineland; other sources describe it as a Rhenish piece from the 1320s, so its precise date and origin remain uncertain. It stands in the chancel. The church also holds five depictions of Christ, including a small triumphal crucifix thought to be Swedish work from the thirteenth century, its original crown now lost, and a larger triumphal cross from the fourteenth century. A processional crucifix dates from the fifteenth century, and an older processional cross in fourteenth-century style was found in the bell tower in 1912.

Other notable items include four wooden saints' figures from the late Middle Ages, probably once part of an altar cabinet, and a limestone font whose bowl dates to the fifteenth century, set on an older base. The altarpiece was made in 1771 by a local joiner, and the pulpit followed in 1789, built to designs supplied from Stockholm. Most of the original church silver was lost when the Crown levied taxes in 1531 and 1545, though later gifts of silver vessels are recorded.

Outside, the churchyard is enclosed by a stone wall with lychgates, and a separate tarred bell tower, rebuilt in 1774, stands to the north-east. Two runestones are built into the churchyard wall, with a third standing in the porch, reminders of the site's long history before the present church was built.
