Lomma kyrka, the parish church of Lomma in Skåne beside the Höje river, stands on the site of an earlier stone church. The present brick building dates from the 1870s and offers visitors a striking tower, decorative windows and several older furnishings worth seeking out.

The church that stands today replaced an earlier stone building, thought to have been built in the 1170s in Romanesque style, which stood closer to the river. Local folklore even claimed it predated the biblical flood, though this is naturally a legend rather than a historical fact. That earlier church was demolished once the parish agreed a new one was needed.

The current church was built between 1871 and 1873 using yellow machine-made brick from the Lomma brickworks, to a design by the Landskrona-based architect J.E.A. Nielsen. It has north and south transepts, a three-sided chancel, and a substantial tower topped with a slender spire. An earlier proposal by the architect Helgo Zettervall, which would have incorporated the old tower, was rejected as structurally unworkable. The church was consecrated in July 1873 by Bishop Wilhelm Flensburg.

The church has been renovated several times, including in 1935, when the roof and interior were restored, and again in the early 1990s, when discoloured walls, cracked plaster and worn pews were repaired. A new slate roof was fitted in the 1970s, and the interior was repainted in the 2010s.

Among the furnishings, the altarpiece is a notable survival: sources note either a set of six small sixteenth-century painted panels attributed to Pehr Hollbeck, or an altarpiece by the craftsman Morgens Snedker dated to 1566 and reconstructed in 1935 — accounts vary as to the precise attribution and date. Six further painted panels from the eighteenth century depict scenes from the life of Christ, including the Nativity and Crucifixion.

The font is a copy of a clay original held at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen; the kneeling angel figure supporting the basin, cast in zinc, is based on a design by the Danish sculptor Herman Wilhelm Bissen and replicates one found in Copenhagen's Vor Frue Kirke. The pulpit and a set of wooden figures in the south transept, depicting Christ and the four Evangelists, are carved after designs by Thorvaldsen. The church also retains a chandelier made in Kristianstad in 1773, and an organ whose façade dates from 1878 despite later rebuilding of the instrument itself.
