Sjögestads kyrka, in the village of Sjögestad in Östergötland, is a mid-19th-century parish church that stands on a site with a much older history. It lies between Mjölby and Linköping, within the parish of Vikingstad and the Diocese of Linköping.

The present building dates from the 1860s, but it replaces a medieval predecessor, a Romanesque stone church thought to date from the later 12th century, whose original appearance is now unknown. A wooden bell tower once stood nearby, but in 1726 the bells were moved into the church tower itself and the stapel was removed. In 1751 the medieval chancel was demolished and replaced with a larger one and a new sacristy, and records suggest older wall paintings were deliberately removed or covered at this time.

By the mid-19th century the old church had fallen into poor condition. Following a visitation in 1854, the bishop suggested either building a new church or merging the parish with neighbouring Rappestad, which already had a larger, newer church. The parishioners chose to build their own church, commissioning designs from the architect Edvard von Rothstein. The lower part of the medieval tower was retained within the new structure, and building work was carried out under contractor C. A. Forsén from 1860.

The result is a single-nave hall church combining neo-Gothic and neo-Classical detailing, with a rectangular nave, large round-arched windows, a five-sided chancel projection and a recessed west tower. Despite later alterations, the exterior retains much of its original detailed façade, and the interior is unusually well preserved, with large parts of the original fittings still in place alongside older items rescued from the medieval church.
