Upphärads kyrka is a parish church in the village of Upphärad, in the southern part of Trollhättan municipality, belonging to Rommele parish in the Diocese of Skara. It stands as a modest but characterful example of 18th-century Swedish rural church building.

The present hall church was built on a new site in 1724, following a typical plan of the period with a nave and a three-sided chancel. Its west tower, designed in a traditional style by Axel Forssén, was not added until 1928, when it also received two bells, one of which was cast as early as 1636. A separate wooden bell frame dating from 1770 still stands near the church, a reminder of how bells were housed before the tower was built.

The interior reflects a Baroque character, most strikingly in its painted wooden barrel ceiling, decorated in 1745 by Ditlof Ross. The vault depicts the Trinity and the Last Judgement, with a depiction of hell placed at the western end. Along the sides, six cartouche-style panels illustrate scenes from the Passion of Christ and the Crucifixion, and Ross is also credited with the painted images of the apostles on the gallery front.

Among the church's furnishings is a late-medieval wooden sculpture of the Virgin and Child, offering a glimpse of devotional art predating the current building. The altarpiece, divided into three fields, and the pulpit, decorated with images of the evangelists and the Saviour, were both carved in 1724–1725 by Johan Mentz Scheffer, giving the chancel a unified appearance from the church's early years. The wooden font dates from 1728, and a chasuble from 1792 survives among the textile furnishings. The furnishings as a group were restored in 1954.

The church has had more than one organ over the years. An initial instrument is said to have been installed in 1842, followed by an organ built in 1889 by Salomon Molander, whose case—likely designed by Fredrik Ekholm—still survives. The current pneumatic organ was built in 1949 by Anders Magnusson, incorporating older pipework from the 19th century within its 23 stops.
