Kärråkra kyrka is a small sandstone church in the northern part of Ulricehamn Municipality, Västra Götaland. Its nave dates from the twelfth or early thirteenth century, making it one of the older rural churches in the district, and its history is closely tied to the changing fortunes of the small parish it serves.

The church's oldest sections are generally placed at around 1150, with a substantial rebuilding using stone from an earlier structure taking place around 1210. When the building was restored in 1929, temporary removal of plaster from the walls allowed researchers to study the masonry and support this dating, though such conclusions from limited visual inspection should be treated as informed estimate rather than certainty.

Tradition holds that an earlier wooden church, possibly a stave church, once stood nearby at a site called Högen in the village of Öjelunda, and that oak timbers recovered may have come from this building. A carved stone with a small hollow ('offersten') found at the same site has been suggested as evidence of pre-Christian ritual use of the location, though this remains a matter of local tradition rather than confirmed record.

The church's position, on a ridge surrounded by marshland in the parish's south-western corner, is unusual, since most of the population historically lived in the village of Öjelunda. One local theory suggests the elevated, somewhat isolated site was chosen for its defensive advantages in times of conflict.

Over the centuries the building was altered considerably: new roof vaulting was added in 1729–1730, a larger three-sided chancel and sacristy were built onto the east end in 1822, and a granite tower was raised at the west end in 1910, into which the church bells were then moved from an older freestanding bell tower. The old porch was relocated to the churchyard, where it came to house older fittings, including notebooks left by local historian Carl Öman recording parish life.

Inside, the church retains a sandstone font of around 1200, pear-shaped and decorated with a twisted rope motif, along with a seventeenth-century brass chandelier in the chancel and a Baroque altarpiece acquired in 1708, thought to be the work of Gustaf Kihlman of Borås. A 1950s restoration under Ärland Noreen introduced closed pews and a colour scheme inspired by the altarpiece. The church's exterior also appeared in the 1991 Swedish film Änglagård.
