This is a modern church building, designed by architect Hans Wieland and completed in the early 1980s. Sources differ slightly on the exact consecration date, with one giving the Second Sunday of Advent 1983 and naming Bishop Tore Furberg as officiant.
A notable icon inside the church was donated by Tore Furberg and painted in Ethiopia, a country where EFS has long supported mission work — a connection said to explain why the church received this particular gift.
One of the more unusual furnishings is a light-bearer mounted on a wall, fashioned from an old harrow by Gunnar Lindby. The church also holds a woven wall-hanging by Mia Enström, created to echo a painting that had hung in EFS's earlier church, showing a lamb resting on a book with seven seals — imagery understood to represent Christ and, through an accompanying rainbow, the promises of God.
The organ was built in 1998 by Robert Gustavsson Orgelbyggeri AB.
Outside, a plain plastered cross marks the church's north gable. To the right of the entrance stands a free-standing bell tower, built alongside the church in 1983; its bell is a so-called vällingklocka (porridge bell) that once hung at the former Länna farm in Visby.
