Kalls kyrka stands on a hill above Lake Kallsjön in Åre municipality, in Kalls parish. This substantial stone church seats up to 500 people, with room for a further 50 in the gallery, reflecting its role as a spacious rural parish church.

An earlier medieval stone church once stood on this site but was demolished in 1868. The present building was constructed between 1862 and 1866 to designs by the architect Edvard von Rothstein, replacing its predecessor shortly before the old structure was finally torn down. The church comprises a nave with a narrower three-sided chancel to the east and a tower to the west, with a sacristy attached on the south-eastern side of the nave. Visitors can enter through the porch in the base of the tower or via a door on the north side of the nave.

Inside, the walls are plastered in a pale grey-white, and the coffered wooden ceiling is also painted white, giving the interior a light, restrained character. The chancel windows hold stained glass by Torsten Nordberg, installed in 1954-55, adding a mid-twentieth-century layer to the otherwise nineteenth-century interior.

Among the furnishings, the pulpit was made in 1866 by Pehr Fredric Flygt and Olof Jensson Wold, and nearby a painted drapery motif in blue and gold decorates the wall. The altarpiece, depicting the Crucifixion, was painted by Pelle Havne in 1932. The altar arrangement, with its cross, shroud cloth and two flanking figures, is thought to have been decorated by Nils Magnus Åkerström, who carried out carving and painting work in the church in 1867.
