Långareds kyrka is a parish church in the village of Långared in northern Alingsås kommun, Västra Götaland, part of Bjärke församling in the Diocese of Skara. Its plain, old-fashioned design conceals a much older heritage than its 1818 consecration suggests.

The present building replaced an earlier wooden church that, by the time it was demolished in 1825, was described by a contemporary witness as dark, cramped and dilapidated. A stone font surviving from the 1200s suggests that a church has stood on this site since the medieval period, long before the current structure was built.

The church was designed and built by Per Eriksson, a master builder from Sandhult, and was consecrated on 29 November 1818, making it his first completed commission. Its layout is deliberately old-fashioned, with a three-sided chancel end, angular window heads and little decorative detail. The tower was not finished until 1824, and its spire followed only in 1891 — a reminder that even a newly built church could take decades to reach its final form. The interior has seen further changes during the 20th and 21st centuries.

Among the furnishings, the soapstone font is the oldest object, carved in the 1200s and thought to be of Norwegian origin, salvaged from the earlier church. The pulpit dates from the same period as the current building and originally stood over the altar until 1908. A small square window bears the coat of arms of the Leijonhufvud family together with an inscription dated 1590, a fragment of the church's pre-Reformation-era connections.

The church holds three bells, including a large bell cast in 1533; its partly abbreviated Latin inscription names King Gustav of Sweden and Sven Jacobi, Bishop of Skara, at the time of casting.

The organ in the west gallery was built in 1932 by Nordfors & Co of Lidköping, with thirteen stops across two manuals and pedal, housed behind a silent facade retained from an earlier 1865 instrument.
