Storvreta kyrka is one of Sweden's newest churches, serving Ärentuna parish in Uppsala diocese. Built as an extension to the Storvreta parish house north of Uppsala, the church seats around 150 to 200 people and represents an unusually recent addition to the Church of Sweden's building stock.

The building complex at Storvreta grew in two stages. The first part, a round chapel with a steeply pitched roof clad in zinc sheeting, was designed by architect Rolf Bergh and consecrated in September 1979 by dean Clarence Nilsson. Its walls, both inside and out, are finished in limewash, and the floor is tiled. A folding wall on the western side allows the chapel to be joined with a larger assembly hall in the parish house.

Decades later, in 2023, plans were approved for a larger church hall to be built onto the opposite side of the parish house complex. Construction began that autumn, and the new hall was completed the following year, seating roughly 200. It was consecrated on Whit Sunday, 19 May 2024, by Karin Johannesson, Bishop of Uppsala, reportedly the first newly built church within the Church of Sweden in nearly a decade.

The 2024 consecration brought new furnishings, including an organ, and gifts marking the occasion: a Bible presented by the Swedish Bible Society and a vase given by the local free church, Lyckebokyrkan. A church bell, cast in Norway, carries an inscription referring to the Whit Sunday dedication.

The older chapel holds its own set of furnishings from the 1979 building campaign. An electronic organ with 36 stops, of Dutch (Johannus) manufacture, was installed near the sacristy entrance in 1993. The altar, ambo, font, and kneeling stools, which can be arranged into an altar rail, were made and donated by Karl-Erik Pettersson, while the church silver, including communion vessels and a paten, was designed by Eric Löfman and produced by Markströms of Uppsala. Vestments and textiles for the chapel were supplied by Birgitta Hollmer of Uppsala.
