The church was built in 1930 to designs by Lars Israel Wahlman, one of the notable Swedish architects of the early twentieth century. It belongs to Säby församling within the Diocese of Linköping.
The building takes its inspiration from the early Christian basilica form, with a tall central nave flanked by two lower side aisles. An unusual feature is the orientation of the tower towards the east, contrary to the more common arrangement seen in most church buildings. Three church bells hang in the tower.
Inside, the altarpiece dominating the chancel is divided into three sections, depicting Christ's conversation with Nicodemus, the Crucifixion, and the Ascension.
The church organ dates from 1930, built by Åkerman & Lund Orgelbyggeri, and was rebuilt in 1939. A more extensive rebuilding took place in 1974 by Walter Thürs Orgelbyggeri, when the instrument was enlarged and given mechanical key action with electric stop action.
