Trefaldighetskyrkan (Holy Trinity Church) stands high above the town of Arvika on the wooded hill of Minneberg, its tall central roof and spire visible across the surrounding landscape.

The idea of building a church in Arvika first arose in the 1890s, and a site was set aside on Minneberg, north of the railway station. When Arvika became its own parish in 1905, proposals for a church closer to the town centre were invited instead. Artists from the nearby Rackstad colony took an active interest in the debate over style, and in 1907 the commission went to Ivar Tengbom and Ernst Torulf for a design inspired by National Romanticism.

The foundation stone was laid in 1909, and the church was consecrated on Trinity Sunday in 1911 by the Bishop of Karlstad. The dedication to the Holy Trinity, emphasised in the consecration address, gave the church its name, later shortened to Trefaldighetskyrkan.

Architecturally the church takes the form of a three-aisled basilica with a polygonal apse and a gable tower, built of rendered stone with a slate roof; local materials were reportedly used throughout, including brick fired nearby, gneiss from Dottevik and roof slate from Glava. Inside, the open timber roof trusses are decorated with Art Nouveau plant motifs, and Tengbom is said to have designed much of the church's fittings himself.

Several distinctive works by Värmland artists decorate the building. Above the main doors is a relief by Christian Eriksson, while the altarpiece, depicting the Via Dolorosa, was painted by Björn Ahlgrensson using friends from the artists' colony at Lake Racken as models; sources differ slightly on whether the main altar decoration is this painting or a separate altarpiece created by Ola Eriksson combining Baroque and Old Norse styles. The soapstone font was designed by Bror Sahlström. During a 1949 restoration, murals and pulpit decorations by Simon Sörman were added to the chancel, depicting humanity's search for God.

The church has had more than one organ over its history: an early pneumatic instrument installed in 1911 was replaced by a new mechanical organ built in 1959, with a further small choir organ added in 1989.
