Arvidsjaurs Kyrka: At one end of Storgatan stands Arvidsjaur Church. With its architecture and surrounding churchyard, it invites stillness and reflection.

The church was consecrated in 1903 and is the fifth church in Arvidsjaur. In the 1950s it was renovated, and Ivar Hjertkvist's altar painting replaced the altar window.

The church feels almost square, as the nave is so wide, yet despite seating 750 people, the galleries create a sense of closeness.

You can go in to light a candle, write a prayer, or sit for a while. The church is open during services and office hours.
