The church was built in 1962 to designs by the architect Johannes Olivegren and was consecrated the same year by Bishop Gösta Lundström. Its steep saddle roof and elongated form were inspired by the image of Noah's Ark, an idea the architect carried through to the chancel, where the shape of a ship's bow can be traced.
Inside, the roof rises steeply in timber above a brick floor, giving the small worship space a strong, simple character. Because the church is built into a slope, a large hall with a kitchen area lies beneath the main church room; this space once served as the parish hall and today is used for children's and youth activities.
The carved wooden altarpiece depicts the Last Supper. A new organ was installed and dedicated in 2012, marking the church's fiftieth anniversary.
The former parish house next to the church has since been sold, and the parish's current community building, near the church park, has had a varied life, having at different times served as a pizzeria and a grocery shop.
