Morö Backe kyrka is a modern parish church in the Morö Backe district of Skellefteå, built in the late 1970s as the growing suburb took shape. Its restful, red-timbered form and welcoming interior have made it a popular local gathering place.

The church was designed by architect Olle Forsgren and built as the Morö Backe district of Skellefteå was being developed. Construction began in November 1978 and the building was consecrated in September 1979 by Bishop Stig Hellsten. It is the largest church building in its parish, Skellefteå Sankt Olovs församling, part of the Diocese of Luleå.

The exterior is clad in traditional falu-red timber panelling, with a roof covered in roofing felt and a single bell mounted at the highest corner of the building. Alongside the main worship space, the church houses café and serving areas together with rooms for children's and youth activities, reflecting its role as a community hub as much as a place of worship.

Inside, the most distinctive features are the icon-inspired images on the altarpiece and a depiction of Mary, created by the artist Sven-Bertil Svensson of Öland. Two woven textile hangings, designed by Britta Rendahl and woven by Gammelstads handväveri, also decorate the church; one depicts the Resurrection on Easter morning, the other illustrates the words "Let the children come to me".

Visitors often mention the welcoming atmosphere of the foyer, where an open fireplace is said to be lit on cold days, adding warmth to what is otherwise a plain, functional building typical of Swedish church architecture from this period.
