Ölme kyrka, standing on a hilltop amid farmland west of Ölme in Värmland, was built between 1787 and 1788 by master builder Gustaf Westman. It replaced an earlier stone church, itself successor to a 12th-century wooden building on the same site.

The present church was consecrated in October 1788 by Bishop Herman Schröderheim, replacing a medieval stone church that had grown too small for the congregation. That earlier building had itself succeeded a 12th-century timber church on the site. The whitewashed stone structure has a rectangular nave with curved extensions to east and west, the latter housing the tower and the former the chancel. A sacristy was added on the north side of the nave during renovations in 1927.

From the medieval churches, only the font, dated to the 13th century, survives today. The white and gold pulpit dates from 1788 and was a gift from Johanna Schröderheim, wife of the bishop who consecrated the church.

The most striking furnishing is the large altarpiece depicting Christ teaching in the temple, painted by Pehr Hörberg in 1798. Its present frame, with columns and an all-seeing eye motif, was designed by the architect Bror Almqvist in 1926. The church also holds numerous textiles, including a chancel carpet, by the artist Agda Österberg, as well as work by textile artist Ethel Halvarsson of Kristinehamn.

The organ was rebuilt in 1848 by Erik Adolf Setterquist and reinaugurated in 1850; a chancel organ made by John Grönvall Orgelbyggeri in 1975 was in the church until 2015. In the churchyard stands a timbered mortuary house, believed to date from the 18th century and reckoned among the oldest surviving buildings of its kind in the province.
