Överklintens kyrka stands in a leafy, tranquil setting near the Rickleån river in Västerbotten, around ten kilometres north-west of Robertsfors. Built in the early twentieth century, it has since undergone a striking transformation in style.

The church was built between 1902 and 1904 in Neo-Gothic style, with a tall, tapering west tower. It follows the long-nave design typical of the period, with a narrower chancel, and was said to resemble the former Robertsfors works church, which was demolished in 1956.

The most significant change to the building's appearance came in 1939–40, when it was substantially remodelled to designs by architect Knut Nordenskjöld. The tower was rebuilt with straight walls and given a four-sided spire covered in slate, while the nave roof was retiled. This work gave the church a later Classicist character quite different from its original Gothic Revival form, and the interior was fitted with a barrel vault.

Most of the furnishings visitors see today date from this same 1939–40 remodelling, including the pulpit, altarpiece surround, font, wall lights and hymn number board. The painted altarpiece itself is older, created in 1905 by Johan Saedén of Bygdeå, depicting a scene from the Gospel of Matthew.
