S:t Mikaels kapell was the first church of the former Degerfors parish. The chapel was completed in 1769. It was built as a cruciform timber church. Today, few timber churches remain in this style. On Michaelmas Day (Mikaelidagen) 1962, the chapel was reconsecrated and given the name S:t Mikaels kapell.
