Kastalakyrkan is a modern church in the Komarken district of Kungälv, serving the Church of Sweden's Kungälv-Ytterby parish. Consecrated in 1980, it replaced an earlier temporary church and today reflects a distinctly late twentieth-century approach to church building.

The current building was constructed between 1979 and 1980 to designs by architect Carl-Anders Hernek, and was consecrated on 14 December 1980. It is built of brick and concrete, materials that give the church a solid, functional character typical of its era. A wooden bell tower standing just northeast of the church actually predates the main building, having been erected in 1969 for an earlier travelling church that once stood nearby.

That earlier building, designed by Torsten Hansson, was a low brick structure with a pyramid-shaped, metal-clad roof. It was sold in 1979 and relocated to Nyköping, making way for the present church on the same site.

Among the church's furnishings is a font pieced together from five surviving fragments of a thirteenth-century font attributed to the so-called Lödöse Master, discovered during excavations at the site of the old Ny Kongelf church. Rather than a traditional pulpit, the church uses a light-wood ambo, and the processional cross at the altar was made by Per Andersson.

The organ near the choir has its own history: built by the Frederiksborg organ workshop, it originally stood in Fors church in Eskilstuna before being acquired for Kastalakyrkan in 1999. It is a mechanical instrument with a sounding facade and a modest seven stops across manual and pedal.
