Adventskyrkan is a twentieth-century parish church in the centre of Hallsberg, Örebro county, built to serve a community that grew rapidly around the town's railway junction. Its soft pink exterior and tall slated tower make it a distinctive local landmark.

Hallsberg developed around its railway, with the junction between Stockholm and Gothenburg, and between Örebro and Hallsberg, drawing workers and families to settle near the station during the later nineteenth century. As the town's centre of gravity shifted away from the old parish church, some kilometres distant, local residents began pressing for a church nearer the growing settlement.

A society formed in 1902 to campaign for a new church, and the cause gained momentum in the 1920s with support from a needlework guild that raised funds for the project. A church-building foundation was established in 1939, and after several design proposals were considered, the winning scheme came from municipal architect Lars Arborelius. The site was donated by Hallsberg's local authority, and the church was consecrated on the third Sunday of Advent 1944 by Bishop Gustaf Aulén.

Built in brick and rendered inside and out in a National Romantic style, the church has a rectangular nave with a tower at the east end, an unusual orientation with the altar extension to the west. The tower's closed, massive form and tall slate-clad spire, together with its broad portal, give the building its striking silhouette. The pale pink rendering seen today dates from 1984, and a new sacristy was added on the tower's north side in 1991.

Inside, visitors notice the tall, three-part timber ceiling, red brick floor, traditional enclosed pews, and the open space beneath the organ gallery. On the south side of the chancel is a baptismal area with a font beneath a stained-glass window designed by architect Erik Ulrich.

The chancel wall features an apse-shaped niche containing a concrete relief by sculptor Rolf Kjellberg, together with a carved limestone altar below. Many of the church's fittings, textiles, silver and lighting were either donated by parishioners or funded through collections, including a light-bearer made partly from reclaimed materials by a former church caretaker.
