Torpa kyrka is a medieval parish church in Halland, near the coast in what is now Varberg municipality. Probably built in the 1200s, it is one of the best-preserved medieval churches in the Diocese of Gothenburg, and retains a granite font, a medieval triumphal arch and richly painted interiors.

The church's thick walls of fieldstone and brick, along with its stepped gables and simple brick ornamentation, still show a strongly medieval character. A blocked perspective portal survives on the north side of the nave, and tradition links the church to the nearby Ås monastery, though this remains uncertain. The nave was lengthened and a porch added in the later Middle Ages, giving the building its present outline.

An unusual feature is the wooden tower, built around 1770 to the east of the chancel, replacing an earlier freestanding bell frame. Timber-clad and topped with a small lantern and spire, the tower was painted red until 1899, when it was repainted white. Its ground floor was converted into a sacristy during restoration work in 1967.

Inside, the church has a lively, provincial Baroque and Rococo decorative scheme. The wooden ceiling, painted in the late eighteenth century, shows figures and ornament attributed to Henrik Andersson Wibeck, though church accounts also name other painters, and the true authorship remains debated. Traces of earlier seventeenth-century limewash decoration can still be seen on the walls and around the window niches. The floor of red and grey chequered limestone is thought to date from the 1700s.

Among the furnishings, the granite font is one of a group of plain medieval fonts typical of central Halland; only its basin survives, set on a modern base, and it has been dated to the 1300s or earlier. The pulpit with its sounding board dates from the early 1600s, and the oak altarpiece, painted in blue, red and black with gilding, is a striking survival from the same century. The galleries along the west and north walls carry a sequence of painted apostle panels from around 1780, later overpainted and then uncovered again in 1923.

The church's older organ was replaced in 1979 by a new instrument built by Tostareds Kyrkorgelfabrik, retaining thirteen stops across two manuals and pedal.
