The oldest parts of the church were built in the 14th century. The church is in Gothic style, with two star vaults in the interior, of a late medieval type. The spire bears a weathervane with the year 1769, and the gable ridges are adorned with wrought ironwork in the form of Greek crosses. The roofs are covered with tar-impregnated wooden shingles. The exterior walls are rendered and painted white. At the eastern end of the north nave wall lies the sacristy, and at the opposite end the church porch from the 15th century, with its beautiful doorway carved by "the Wooden Bishop" Anders Olsson of Lakamark.
