Nittorps kyrka, in the village of Nittorp in Tranemo Municipality, was built in 1847 to replace an earlier medieval stone church, whose ruins still stand nearby. The present building is a good example of Swedish rural neoclassicism.

The church was designed by the architect G Ståhl in neoclassical style and built by local master builders from Sandhult parish. It consists of a rectangular nave with a narrower, semicircular chancel to the east, and a west tower topped with a closed lantern and a flat, cross-crowned cap. Although a sacristy featured in the original plans, it was not actually built until 1958, to designs by architect E Lundberg of Borås.

The whitewashed exterior walls are pierced by large round-arched windows. Inside, a major restoration in 1931 saw the church repainted, refloored and refitted with new pews, though the older pew doors and screens were retained. A decorative drapery painting from 1870 above the pulpit was touched up at this time, only to be painted over during further restoration work in the 1960s, when the rearmost pews were removed and replaced with built-in cupboards.

The multicoloured pulpit, standing against the north wall, was brought over from the old medieval church. Its four-sided body is carved with figures of the four evangelists, and gilded angel heads decorate its upper edge; above hangs a carved white dove beneath a domed canopy painted blue and gilded with a sun motif.

The altarpiece, painted in 1871 by the artist Anders Gustaf Ljungström, depicts the Transfiguration of Christ. The oak font, donated in 1920, has carved and partly gilded ornament. A fragment of the original medieval font, cut from limestone around 1200 and decorated with rope-moulding and a lily frieze, has also survived and is kept in the church.

The tower holds two bells: the larger, cast in 1523 by the so-called Nittorp Master, carries a Latin inscription naming the parish priest of Dalstorp at the time, while the smaller bell dates from 1884. The organ, built in 1862 with six stops, was enlarged to eighteen stops in a rebuild carried out in 1950 by Mårtensson's organ workshop in Lund.
