Enångers kyrka is a church near Hudiksvall in Gävleborg, though the sources disagree on which building visitors actually see: one describes a late-medieval church with original 15th-century ceiling paintings and wooden figures, while another documents a much later 19th-century building.

The two accounts available cannot easily be reconciled. One source, from a places listing, describes Enångers kyrka as dating from the end of the 1400s, notable for unique original ceiling paintings from that century and for wooden figures attributed to Haaken Gulleson, a name associated with 16th-century church sculpture in the region. This suggests a medieval timber or stone church of considerable art-historical interest.

The Wikipedia account, however, describes a quite different building: a church constructed between 1847 and 1854 and consecrated only in 1858. This building suffered a serious fire in April 1879, started by sparks from a heating stove igniting the wooden shingle roof, leaving only the outer walls standing. The reconstruction, carried out from autumn 1879 to designs by the royal palace intendant Ernst Jacobsson, replaced the fixed interior fittings entirely and gave the tower a new gilded iron cross and copper-clad spire, along with a tower clock by the noted Stockholm clockmaker Fredrik Wilhelm Tornberg.

Given the fire destroyed the fittings and left only the walls, it is unclear whether any medieval ceiling paintings or 16th-century wooden figures mentioned elsewhere could have survived within this particular building, or whether they belong instead to the separate, older Enångers gamla kyrka nearby — a possibility visitors should bear in mind, since confusion between the two churches seems plausible.

One survival that does appear well attested is the font, carved from limestone in the 1200s and brought from the old church, making it older than the present structure by many centuries. The altarpiece was painted in 1900 by C. G. Holmgren.

The church's organ has its own history: an 1857 instrument by Daniel Björkstrand of Alfta was succeeded in 1880 by the present mechanical organ built by Anders Victor Lundahl of Malmö, its Gothic-style case decorated in white and gold. A smaller mechanical chancel organ was added in 1987 by Johannes Menzel Orgelbyggeri of Härnösand.
