Vintrosa kyrka is a parish church in Tysslinge församling, on the Närke plain west of Örebro. Though modest in scale, it has a long history stretching back to the medieval period and a dramatic recent chapter following a serious fire in 2014.

The church stands on the Närke plain not far from the river Svartån. It is built of rendered stone and brick, with a rectangular nave, a three-sided chancel, a sacristy to the north and a west tower, with entrances on the west front and midway along the south side of the nave. The roofs are covered with patterned slate over the nave, copper sheeting over the sacristy, and a timber lantern topped by a gilded cross above the tower.

A medieval church, thought to have been built in the 1100s or early 1200s with its own west tower, stood on the site before being dismantled in stages during the 1700s and 1800s. Parts of the medieval fabric may survive within the south wall of today's nave, though the extent is uncertain. A sacristy of unknown date is recorded as existing by the 1600s. Major rebuilding in the 1720s and 1730s widened the church to the north and extended it to the east, adding the present sacristy; further work in 1824–25 extended the building westward and replaced the medieval tower with a new one. Much of the church's current appearance, including its larger windows, the south doorway and the tower's louvred openings, dates from this nineteenth-century remodelling. Inside, the nave is covered by a timber barrel vault.

A restoration in 1937 removed nineteenth-century stencilled decoration in the chancel and painted mottoes along the cornice, while work in 1956 uncovered original eighteenth-century polychrome colouring on the altarpiece and pulpit. Surviving fittings include the bowl of a Romanesque font dating from the 1200s and a triumphal crucifix from the second half of the 1400s, now mounted on the chancel wall. A mosaic antependium on the free-standing altar was created by Bengt Olof Kälde.

On 8 March 2014 the church was badly damaged by fire, which destroyed the entire roof and parts of the ceiling; the tower survived intact. The church silver and some older fittings were saved, though the 1755 altarpiece was reportedly destroyed. The fire is said to have spread from a blaze at a nearby private house, carried by sparks in windy conditions; around 25 firefighters from three stations worked to control it. The parish decided to rebuild, and a new roof was completed shortly before Christmas 2014. The church was reconsecrated on Easter Monday, 28 March 2016, in a service led by Bishop Johan Dalman. A mosaic on the chancel wall by conservator Gabor Pasztor, inspired by Kälde's earlier work, dates from the rebuilding period.

The church has had more than one organ. An instrument was built in 1857 by Erik Adolf Setterquist and Per Åkerman of Strängnäs; in 1926 an organ built in 1909 by E A Setterquist & Son of Örebro, incorporating the 1857 facade, was moved here from Bethlehem Church in Karlstad. A separate mechanical chancel organ was built in 1976 by Åkerman & Lund.
