Västra Nöbbelövs kyrka is a Romanesque parish church in Skåne, dating from the mid-12th century. It is best known for its striking 14th-century wall paintings, thought to have been produced by the artists' workshop known as the Snårestad Master.

The earliest church here was built of wood in the late Viking Age, though no trace of it survives. The stone church that replaced it was raised in the mid-1100s, initially shorter than today, with a narrow tower whose upper room may have served the local chieftain. Curious round openings, so-called sound pots, were built into the vaulting of the chancel and apse to improve the acoustics and reduce echo; some accounts suggest they remain effective today, giving the church a notable resonance. Traces of the original, richly decorated south portal, attributed to a stonemason known as Carl Stenmästare, can still be seen on the exterior.

During the early 14th century the old tower was demolished and the nave enlarged to its present size, with a new tower built further west. Substantial changes followed in the 1830s, when part of the north wall was removed to add a north transept, and again in the 1860s, when the windows were enlarged and the tower heightened, gaining the pyramid-capped spire seen today. A further restoration in the early 1950s altered the interior considerably: the altarpiece was moved into the newer part of the church, a new altar and altar rail were installed, and the pulpit and font exchanged positions within the nave.

The church's celebrated wall paintings date from the 14th century and are considered among the finest work associated with the Snårestad Master, a school of painters active in the region. The chancel and apse depict the triumphant, victorious Church, while the nave paintings turn to themes of penitence. A scene of the Last Judgement shows Christ enthroned on a rainbow, flanked by figures including the Virgin Mary interceding for the saved, the risen dead, and the archangel Michael weighing souls, opposed by a small devil trying to tip the scales. The paintings were whitewashed over for a long period before being uncovered again during a restoration in the early 1950s; the colours visible today are muted compared with the original palette of red, black, orange, grey and green.

Among the older furnishings is a limestone font from the 1100s, attributed to the so-called Blentarp group of craftsmen, with a later 16th-century font cover decorated with a depiction of the Fall of Man. The large bell was cast in 1578 and is said to be the oldest in the Ljunits district; the smaller bell is a recasting of an older one from the early 1800s. The current organ was built in 1954 by A. Mårtensson's organ workshop in Lund, replacing an earlier instrument brought from Copenhagen in the 1870s.

South of the church stands a runestone dated to around the year 1000, raised, according to its inscription, by a man named Toke in memory of his brother Ödge, described as a well-born thegn — a term implying either a warrior in the king's retinue or a free, locally prominent farmer.
